Ordinary Existentialism
This piece was inspired by a hike through Ball’s Falls. The sun was beaming through the softly blowing evergreen boughs and the experience had an overall mystical feeling. I leaned into this to glean a deeper symbolism through imagery and colour. The trees stand tall as a testament to longevity beyond my lifetime. The greens and oranges suggest life, growth and vitality symbolizing the changes, and experiences in the cycle of life. The magenta forest floor is blurry and abstract. representing the unknown beyond the veil of what can be seen. Questioning the spiritual connection to nature and the pondering the mystery of existence grounds this painting as its foundation and inspiration.
