As Above So Below
The photo for this piece was taken on a calm, sunny, summer day on the lake. I was captured by the incredible beauty of the stillness of the water and almost perfect mirror reflection of the tress and sky within. It seemed like I was standing in an impossible surrealistic landscape. Earth connected to the heavens in perfect symmetry. “As Above, So Below” through its mirror-like portrayal of nature marries the trees, sky, and clouds in a way that blurs the boundary between the physical landscape above and its reflection below in an almost indistinguishable way. This duality embodies the Hermetic ideals that the macrocosm (the sky and trees) and the microcosm (their reflection in the water) are interconnected, showing that all things are reflections of each other and that higher truths are mirrored in earthly experiences and perception is illusion.
